Vocabulary Development Handout – This assignment is given each Tuesday during their Library visit to get new AR books. While students are reading their AR books, they are to look for words they either didn’t know the meaning to or words that other students may struggle to understand.

Students are to choose 4 words to complete their handout.

Students can turn in the handouts as they complete them. The handouts are due the following week on the day of our next Library visit.

The goal of this assignment is to practice the skill of using context clues to get students to not just pass over unknown words, but to figure out the word’s meaning which will in turn help with comprehension of what the student is reading.

This handout is always worth 10 points each week.
