Course Description:
In this class you will learn the basis of all life on Earth.  You will become familiar with basic biological processes as well as the organization and classification of many different organisms.  We will begin with the basic chemical components that are essential to all life and expand upon those concepts to better understand our roles as humans and the effects we have on the environment around us.
After completing this course, you will take the AP exam for college credit.  Because of this, I will teach this class as a college course. You will be responsible for your own notetaking and communication through lecture, lab, and this site.

Pencils or Pens (Blue or Black only)

Calculator with square function

 Biochemistry 
In this unit you will develop a basic understanding of the chemistry involved in biological systems.  You will cover concepts concerning bonding types, compound formation, and functional group interactions.  You will also describe the emergent properties of water.  You will describe and analyze organic structures and classify the major biological molecules.
