Meet Mrs. Cocking

Hi! My name is Christine Cocking, and I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher. This will be my eleventh year teaching kindergarten. I began my teaching career at the same elementary school I attended. I started my first year as a basic skills teacher working with kindergarten, first, and second grade. The following year, I went into my own kindergarten classroom and have been enjoying every moment.

I graduated from Rowan University with a major in elementary education and a coordinate major in communications and writing arts. I love teaching reading and writing. This year, your child will become an author and illustrator!

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, going to the gym, reading, and pinning on Pinterest. I live with my husband, Matthew, our children, Corinne and Cole, and our dogs, Timone and Creed.

I am very excited for the start of this school year. We will begin by learning classmate’s names, touring the school with the help of Pete the Cat, and building our classroom community.

I am suggesting your child bring in the following items to start the new school year.  If you cannot provide these items, please call the school and let the main office know: Crayola crayons, a glue stick, two two-pocket folders (your child’s choice of color or design), and 1-2 Expo dry erase markers.
