Work Expectations

WHILE VIRTUAL

1.  All work will be completed through Google Classroom.

2.  All work should be done neatly and with the student’s best effort shown.

3.  Incomplete or sloppy assignments may not be accepted.

4.  Answers and explanations should be detailed and clear for full credit.

5. Students are expected to complete notes online. This will be part of their participation grade.

6. Printing hard copies of assignments at home is always an option if you are able to. Assignments must then be scanned at attached to the Google Classroom assignment.

7. Sharing assignments for others to copy will result in a zero for all people involved.

IN THE CLASSROOM

1.  Most work will be completed through Google Classroom.

2.  All work should be done neatly and with the student’s best effort shown.

3.  Incomplete or sloppy assignments may not be accepted.

4.  Answers and explanations should be detailed and clear for full credit.

5.  Students are expected to maintain a neat notebook throughout each unit of study.  All handouts are available on Google Classroom in case any fall out or get misplaced.  The notebook will be a test grade at the end of each unit. A few extra copies are also available in the classroom.

7.  If printing is not an option at your home, it is always available at the school.  The student simply needs pull up the assignment and tell me they sent it to the printer.

Absent Work

  • Everything done in class will be posted on the Google Classroom page.  This way a student who is out of class can see what was done without having to wait for their return.  This will hopefully stop a build up of make-up assignments.

  • Students have 1 day to complete make-up work for every day they are absent as per school policy.  This includes days the student may be present in school, but are not present in Social Studies class.  There are many opportunities in the school day to get the work to me. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT SOCIAL STUDIES CLASS!

  • It is the student’s responsibility to keep up with assignments.  This means obtaining and completing work missed when out of class either while in or out of the building, obtaining assignments or missing work from Google Classroom, and regularly checking OnCourse.

Late Assignments

  • The deduction will be reflected in OnCourse under the “Completed Assignments” portion of the final grade.

  • All assignments will receive 5 points off for each day it is late up to 5 days.

  • An assignment turned in more than 5 days after the due date will receive no credit for being completed on time and will receive a grade no higher than a 50.

  • A student may be required to turn in even unfinished work at any time after the due date.

  • Any assignment that is not completed when answers are later given in class will receive a grade of zero with no opportunity to complete it.

  • It is the student’s responsibility to check OnCourse and Google Classroom and to be aware of any missing assignments.
