Grading Policy

40%  Classwork

  • Classwork grades include worksheets, review questions, centers, menus, and in-class activities.  This includes classwork that may need to be completed at home.

30%   Assessments & Projects

  • Tests will always be given with at least 2 days advance notice.  Study guides will be provided in the form of a list of topics that will be covered- students are responsible for using class notes and assignments to study the material on their own.  Students will have an opportunity to correct their tests within 2 days of receiving their grade. Students must notify me when test is returned of their intent to fix. Study guide should be reviewed and the retest will occur during their RTI period.  An average of the two scores will be recorded as their grade. Students cannot receive a lower grade than they originally received.

  • Throughout the year there may be assigned reports and projects.  These will be recorded as a Test Grade. There will not be an opportunity to fix and/or resubmit.

  • Notebooks will be checked at the end of each unit.  Students are required to keep their notebooks neat, organized, and up to date.  There will be a rubric included in each notebook.

15%    Work Completion

  • This grade reflects the percentage of on-time completed assignments in a marking period.  There will be 2 grades per marking period for work completion. It is reflected in OnCourse as “Completed Assignments.”

15%    Citizenship/Participation

  • 21st Century Skills including preparedness, ability to work effectively alone or in a group, and respect for classroom rules, peers, and teacher. Points will be taken from the weekly grade based off of Class Dojo score.
