W.O.K. Middle School Health Grading and Guidelines
- Students are to come prepared with a pen or pencil, notebook, agenda and a positive attitude.
2. Report card grades will be determined by averaging all grades from:
- Tests- 40% |
- Homework- 10% |
- Quizzes- 25% |
- Projects/Essays- 10% |
- Class Work/Participation- 15% |

3. Students will keep track of their work on a grade monitoring sheet that can be found in their class folder.
4. Basic classroom rules are:
- Enter and exit the room in an orderly manner.
- Be on time and properly prepared.
- Keep hands, feet, objects and noises to yourself.
- Follow directions first time given.
- Raise your hand for permission to speak or leave your seat.
- Do your own work.
- Eating, drinking and gum chewing are not permitted
- No cursing or profanity.
- Respect the class, classmates, teacher and yourself.
5. Consequences for breaking the rules:
- Warning
- Detention
- Phone Call or E-mail to Parents
- Parent Conference
- Office Referral
Important Health Information
- All headings should be completed or there will be a 1 point deduction for every missing item.
2. All work must be done in blue or black ink, or in pencil. Always have a spare pen or pencil. If you choose to do your work in any other colors, including purple or turquoise, the work will receive a 5 point deduction in the grade.
3. All health work has due dates. If you do not finish the work by the due date it will be graded as a zero. The work can be completed at a later date and be submitted, but will receive a 5 point deduction for being late. Any work completed after the due date must be handed directly to me.
4. Anytime that you are not satisfied with a grade below 70 you may come to see me before or after school to discuss it and either stay after school to work on it or sign out a health book and take the work home to improve it. Maximum grade for improved work is 95.
