HYBRID PHYSICAL EDUCATION GRADES 4-6

During the year, students will begin to apply skills learned in the lower grades to more structured activities. There is usually more of an emphasis on team sports, however this year activities and games may change depending on guidelines we receive. Students may be exposed to: soccer, football, lacrosse, floor hockey, volleyball, badminton, basketball, ultimate Frisbee, wiffle ball or softball. Other activities may include track and field, gymnastics, dance and cooperative games. All grades will also participate in the “Physical Best Fitness Test.”

Grading System:

Projects/Homework/Tests: 30%. Students are given one week to complete homework assignments. Study guides are given out and reviewed in class and then tests are given the next week. One optional extra credit assignment will be given each marking period.

Participation 70%. Students in school are required to dress appropriately and be prepared for class. They also need to actively participate in all activities. Listening and following directions will be emphasized along with cooperation and good sportsmanship. Students at home will respond to the assignment in Google Classroom.

Students who have P.E. in person will be using the school equipment which will be sanitized regularly. Students who are remote will need to use their own equipment if they have it. Please feel free to use what you have at home even if it is not exactly what we are using in school.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Pyrzynski and Mr. Steidl
