5th Grade

Some Important Information:

Students will 5th grade will be learning the many ways to apprecate music.  We will accomplish this in a varety of ways such as performance, listening, composing, dancing, & even producing music.  Students will learn music/culture from other countries such as Ghana, Ethiopia, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, and more.

Students will be able to take part in our instrumental program.  CAS offers a variety of instrument choices such as flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, & percussion.  We have a pull out systen where students get pulled from a class once a week on a rotating basis.  Students will work in small groups with other students to learn how to put together and play the instrument of their choice.

Students can also take part in CAS's choir program.  Chorus is made up of 4th, 5th, & 6th grade students and meets before school at 7:45am on TUESDAYS.  This is a volunteer program so only students who sign up for it attend.  Students will learn to use proper singing technique and we hold performances in the winter and spring.

In class, students will get to learn to play instruments such as drums, ukulele, and even keyboard.  Students will also learn how to produce music on the computer using Bandlab Education.  This is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) which is similar to Garageband except it is cloud base.
