SPELLING

**Spelling Homework will remain the same all year unless otherwise noted in homework planner. 

** On Monday, I will give a pre-test to students who are present.  If a student scores 100%, they will be excused from the weekly written and multiple choice test as well as homework for that week.  During spelling instruction time, they will be allowed to work on computer based projects or chose challenge words to practice.


 Weekly Homework Assignment:

On Monday, students will be given a Spelling Activity Board to complete throughout the week.  They will complete any three activities from the sheet.  All homework assignments are due on Friday.  Below is a suggested schedule of what you should be doing each week for spelling homework.

Monday- complete one activity on the Activity Sheet
Tuesday- complete one activity on the Activity Sheet
Wednesday- complete one activity on the Activity Sheet and study

Thursday- Study for weekly test

Friday- none.  Homework is due.

Each 6 weeks, the studets will be given a homework grade in spelling.  For each homework missed, 5 points will be deducted from their grade.


                                               MATH

Math homework will vary from week to week.  Please check planner for accurate assignments. 

** You can begin to study multiplication facts at home with your child each week.  A copy of the facts is located in the front of their binder.  All facts should be memorized before January.

                                 SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES

Science and Social Studies homework will vary from week to week.  Please check planner for accurate assignments. 

FYI...I will teach all content in Social Studies during the first semester of school.  After that, we will switch to Science.  The students will not be learning both at the same time.
