Discipline Plan

 

Every student in our Pre-Kindergarten classroom has a right to learn and to enjoy school. The following is a guideline for the Discipline Plan used in the classroom.

 

Classroom rules:

 

1. Listen when other are talking.

2. Follow directions.

3. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

4. Work quitely and do not disturb others.

5. Show respect for school and personal property.
6. Work and play in a safe manner.


Consequences:

 

1. The first time a student breaks a rule he/she is given a verbal warning by stating the rule “We raise our thumb and wait to be recognized in our classroom before speaking.

2. The second time a student breaks a rule he/she is moved within the group, possibly closer to the teacher.

3. The third time a student breaks a rule he/she is asked to return to a table until he/she can return to the group without disrupting.

4. If a student exhibits severe misbehavior such as fighting, open defiance or lack of personal control he/she is sent to the principal; with a note of explanation. At this time a call home might be necessary.

 

Positive Consequences:

 

1. Students who demonstrate proper behavior will be reminded with immediate verbal acknowledgement.
