The Phonics program we are using is called CKLA. It uses the term Tricky Words instead of Sight Words. They are the same thing. These are words where not all of them can be sounded out. You have to know them by sight. I have listed the Kindergarten and 1st grade words. Please make sure that your child knows the Kindergarten Tricky Words before moving them to the 1st grade list. You will also notice that many of these words are repeated from Kindergarten to 1st grade as well as on the Dolch list. You can put these words on notecards and use them as flashcards.
