Choosing Excellence
The Choosing Excellence model is based on the Sterling and Glasser continuous improvement strategies are used throughout our school and classrooms.
Topics include building relationships with students and colleagues, developing SMART goals, the PDSA process, the Questioning Process, and Lead Management. Emphasis is placed on using data to make informed instructional decisions, including the analysis of student data for setting AYP and State School Grade goals.
SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Bound
PDSA: Plan, Do , Study, Act
AYP: Adequate Yearly Progress
Purpose: Student achievement is our primary focus. Our stakeholders (parents, businesses, colleges) require graduates who are able to set goals, problem-solve, and work well with others. Choosing Excellence provides specific strategies and quality tools teachers can use immediately to help students begin taking responsibility for their own learning.
