In connection with NJCCCS 5.2, you will complete research assignments and report on the work of individuals who have made historical contributions to the world of science.  These manageable assignments are aimed to get you thinking about the world of science.  More information will be given in class and is subject to change.

 

 

Through these projects you should begin to make the following connections:

 

  1. That scientific theories develop over time.
  2. That scientific theories depend on the contributions of many people.
  3. That scientific theories reflect the social and political climate of their time.
  4. Know that scientists are men and women of many cultures who often work together to solve scientific and technological problems.
  5. Understand that different people in different cultures have made and continue to make contributions to science and technology.

4th Marking Period:

6th, 7th, and 8th grade will complete research assignments of their choice on European Scientists from the 19th century or later.
