Course Description:  Introduction into the science of baked goods and the skills needed to create baked goods.  This will include the study of safety and sanitation in the kithcne, ingredients and their functions, common kithchen equipment used, culinary terms, and proper culinary methods.

  • Decorating techniques

 


Class fee: $10

 

Safety and Sanitation Standards in the Food Lab:

1. Students are required to be appropriately dressed in food lab.

2. Clean apron (school provided) and chef hat or bandana must be worn over hair in all food labs. Hair is too pulled back and tucked under hat/bandana.

3. Fingernails must be kept clean. 

4. Non-slip, closed toe shoes must be worn.


Supplies needed:

  •  Chef hat or bandana to tie around hair and ponytail holders (for longer hair)
  • AVID binder
  • 2 packs of paper plates (no Styrofoam please)
  • 1 Package of kleenex
