Mole Day is celebrated annually on October 23rd from 6:02 am to 6:02 pm.  The idea was inspired by a retired high school chemistry teacher in order to foster an interest in chemistry.  The date originates from Avogadro's Number, which states that there are 6.02 x 1023 atoms in "1 mole" of an element (its atomic mass).  We will be celebrating mole day on October 23rd through various activities and extra credit projects.

 Mole Day Riddles:

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Einstein:  We cannot determine whether the chicken crossed the road or the road crossed under the chicken.  Newton:  Chickens at rest tend to remain at rest;  chickens in motion tend to stay in motion and cross roads.
