   Summer Reading Assignment

For the 2021-22 School year

Summer brings long days filled with good times and fun, but we cannot forget to spend some time each day reading. Studies show that students who read consistently over the summer return to school in the fall at or beyond the skill level achieved in May. Non-readers lose ground. Reading literature is an avenue for exploring diverse cultures and experiences.

This year’s summer novel is the novel, Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie by David Lubar (ALL incoming 9th graders);  the novel, And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie (incoming 10th grade honors ed) ;  the novel, To Outsiders by Harper Lee (incoming 10th grade regular ed); and the novel, Orphan Train (incoming juniors). You will need to either (A) PURCHASE this novel or (B) check out the novel from the library.

To assist you, I have created a Remind! account for summer reading. In order to subscribe, please follow the instruction sheet for signing up for Remind! or click the Remind! tab on my website.
