There will be a star student each week starting in November.  Beginning in October, we will keep track of friends in Room 145 that go above and beyond as a student and as a friend.  (We spend all of September learning what model behaviors look like and sound like).  Once friends earn 5 orange days on his or her power scale or 1 jewel (whichever comes first)*, his or her name will be placed in the "Star Jar" for Star Student!  Each week starting in November, names from the "Star Jar" will be picked naming the Star Student for the following week.  This is the week where you get to shine!  You get to bring in pictures of yourself and family, you get to pick what classroom job you want, our "star-pup", Porkchop or "star-cat", Spaghetti, gets to sit with you at your seat, you can share a special item from home with your friends, we read your favorite book, and you can share a talent of yours with the class!  It’s your week to shine!

On Friday, a name from the Star Jar will be randomly picked as the next Star Student.  The new Star Student gets to now pick which classroom job he or she would like for the week.  The sharing sack will be sent home with the star student for the following week. The Star Student should collect 1 special item to put in the bag at home and bring it back to share with classmates.  Students should also gather any photos of themselves of their choice and bring to school Monday to display on the Star of the Week bulletin board.
