REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
ALL students will need to purchase certain equipment for their instrument. Please see the list below for YOUR instrument to see what you'll need! Also check out the ALL MEMBERS list as there are also certain things that all members will need!
- CLARINET and SAXOPHONE students must purchase at least one box of 1.5 or 2.0 reeds. Reeds are thin strips of wood that make the instrument work and must be placed in the student's mouth. They are also fragile and are usually replaced after several uses. Reeds are not supplied by the school.
- TRUMPET and TROMBONE students MAY need to purchase a PRACTICE MUTE. Since these instruments are particularly loud, many families may have issues with the noise! In order to avoid these issues you may need to purchase a practice mute that will allow for quiet practice.
- PERCUSSION students (drummers) must either rent a percussion kit or purchase their own drum sticks and practice pad. Sticks should be size 5A and the practice pad should be at least 10 inches in diameter.
- ALL BAND STUDENTS will be requred to purchase a lesson book.
- ALL BAND STUDENTS are also encouraged to purchase a music stand and a metronome for practice.
