In fourth grade, we will use a PBIS program that in which students are celebrated for exhibiting good behavior and for being a good school community member.  At the beginning of each quarter, students will be given one point for each day of the quarter.  For example, if a 9 weeks quarter has 45 days in it, students will be given 45 point on the first day.

As long as students follow the rules and expectations, they will keep all of their points. When classroom or school rules are broken, points will be deducted from the student involved and documented on the individual behavior sheet (stapled inside of his/her orange folder that is kept inside of his/her expandable folder).

Parents are expected to monitor student behavior sheets and to provide encouragement, assistance, or congratulations to their child throughout the year in order to be supportive of the educaational process.

Each quarter, students will be given a goal to reach in order to participate in the PBIS reward at the end of the quarter.  On the deadline date, students will submit their forms in order to determine if they are invited to the reward activity.  Students who are unable to participate in the activity will have alternative work to complete, in an alternative classroom environment.

Sample PBIS rewards include parties, walking field trip on the university campus, 1/2 day fieldtrip of campus, dress up days, arts and crafts, Stem activities, Game Day, etc.
