Each student has an expandable folder, and that folder will become their best friend.  They should have it with them at all times.  It goes home daily, and it returns to school daily.  The folder acts as a binder of sorts.  There is a section/file for each subject, and there is space in the back for loose leaf as well as a take home folder.  The take home folder is strictly for notes (to go home or to come to school).  When graded papers are sent home, we will have a different folder.

At times it will look as if the children have a ton of work, but all of the work inside does not have to be completed at once.  I try to go to the copy machine as seldom as possible.  Therefore, when I do go to make copies, I copy about a week's worth of notes, activities, and assignments.  Please DO NOT work ahead of where the class is with instruction.

Lastly, if you feel your child has a hot mess in his/her expandable folder, please email me so I can help your child clean it.  When parents "help," things tend to accidentally get thrown away, when we actually still needed them in class.
