Money-All money must be sent to school in an envelope with the child's name on it, as well as with the purpose of the money (i.e. fundraiser).  Each time a child brings money to school, the child will be given a receipt (additional copies of the receipt will be filed at school).

Birthday Treats-We will celebrate birthdays once per month, on the last Friday of each month, and students may bring individually prepacked (store bought) refreshments to school.

Grades-Papers will be graded as quickly as possible, and grades will be posted as assignments/tests are graded.  All assignments will be given back to students in order for all of us to go over mistakes and celebrate achievement. The packet of papers must be signed and returned within 2 days in order to avoid the loss of a recess.  If more time is needed in order to go over mistakes, etc. please send me a written note or email in order to prevent your child from losing a recess.  All graded papers will be sent home in a green plastic folder.  This folder will be used in this manner all year. Due to many assignments being hands on in nature or completed online, papers will be sent home as we have a collection to send home for review.  I will post a notice that folders are being sent home, in the homework section of Oncourse.

Tests-Test schedules will be posted each Monday (online), for the entire week.  On occassion, I will have to move tests back a day or so if students do not seem ready for them.  Students will always have at least 2 nights to study for tests (most of the time it is more like 3 nights). *As a courtesy, I will give a "Heads Up" on Fridays and share the projected test schedule for the following week (Just look on the homework for Friday for the heads up!.  I have been told that while I don't give homework on weekends, many families use that time to begin studying for weekly tests (due to extra curricular activities during the week). *I WILL NOT GIVE TESTS IN ADVANCE DUE TO PREDICTED ABSENCES (i.e. trips).

Homework-Students will have about 30-40 minutes of written homework each day of the school week, not in the form of packets given out on Mondays , and assignments are due the very next day, unless specified otherwise.  Each child will be given a planner to use when writing down homework assignments. The 30-40 minutes each day will not count study time and is based on the average student's ability.  If your child is spending a great deal more time than this completing homework, please send me an email in order for us to discuss possible reasons and how to help him/her.   Most homework will result from classwork not completed during the day (not additional assignments).  I DO NOT ASSIGN HOMEWORK OVER THE WEEKENDS!  Enjoy family time!!!!!!  (*I WILL NOT GIVE ASSIGNMENTS IN ADVANCE DUE TO PREDICTED ABSENCES SUCH AS TRIPS).

Make-up Work- All hard copy work for absent students is gathered throughout the day and placed in their "spinning racks."  Students are expected to gather all work once they return and complete it by the next day, unless the absence was due to a prolonged absence.  If a student must be absent for longer than one day, please email me and we will make arrangements for zoom instruction (if due to Covid) as well as electronic options for completed work. Make up work will not be gathered in advance (ie for trips).

If you wish to pick up books and assignments for your child, please email or call the school in order for materials to be collected and depostied in the office.  If contact is made early in the day, materials can be picked up after 2:00.  If by some chance they are ready early, I will inform parents that they can pick them up early.

Assignments will not be accepted late for a grade.  Work that is late due to Covid-19 will be the exception.
