We will continue to use the Eureka curriculum in 4th Grade (Eureka Squared this year), but we will also use other resources in order to master state standards.  The most important contributing skill for success in 4th grade Math is the mastery of multiplication facts.  We will not be "learning" our facts in 4th grade.  It is expected that students already know them once they are in 4th grade.  If your child has to "count on" or use tricks in order to arrive at a multiplication problem, he/she needs additional practice in this area.  Additionally, if in an attempt to focus on multiplication/division facts, your child has forgotten addition/subtraction facts, let me know and I can provide suggestions as to how to work on those areas.  Subtraction with regrouping (up to millions) seems to always need some extra review!

The biggest and most challenging concepts we will study this year are fractions and decimals, but we have a while before we begin those units of study.
